With the approval of the Bishop of Makeni, the Recollects started to accept native vocations to the religious life and priesthood. Many young men and some young women are interested to join the Augustinian Recollects |

Ministerial Apostolate |
|
The missionaries take turns in going to the interior villages for the Catechumenate classes. Usually these classes start at sundown when everyone returns to the village after a hard day’s work in the bush. Young and old people are very eager to learn about the Catholic Faith. |

Formation Apostolate |

The Recollect Missionaries take care of the Parish of Our Lady of Sierra Leone in the Town of Kamabai and the Parish of St. Paul in the town of Kamalu. The missionaries also take pastoral care of the village chapels within the parishes. |

Educational Apostolate |
|
The Catholic Mission has dozens of primary schools under their jurisdiction. The Recollect Missionaries act as overseers of these schools. The literacy rate of Sierra Leone is 30%. |
